/ The RE's Muse: Guess who's coming to dinner?

The RE's Muse

After 4 years of infertility, 2 surgeries, 1 miscarriage, and 19 months of high risk pregnancies, hubby and I now have two little women in our lives--one a toddler, the other not far behind. Buckle your seatbelts, it's gonna be a wild ride.

Guess who's coming to dinner?

Yep, today she comes home, just in time for dinner.

We have training on the apnea monitor at 3:30 today at the hospital followed by discharge summary. If all goes according to plan, Daniela should be home in time for dinner tonight.

How I've waited for this day and it's finally here. Now it's time to begin the new process of acclimating her big sister and us to life as a foursome. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared of what tonight may hold. You get used to having monitors and machines around to give you a sense of security when your child is in the NICU.

Tonight, we're on our own. Gulp.

Will post more when she's here :-)

Oh, yay! It's going to be an exciting evening. Don't hold your breath on everything going smoothly. Hospital discharges are notoriously lengthy. Definitely have a plan B for eating dinner. The first night home with no monitors is definitely nerve wracking. Hope you got some sleep last night, as it might be quite a while before you get uninterrupted sleep again. Thinking positive and v. v. happy thoughts for you and yours.

So happy to hear this. I have not posted any comments throughout your ordeal because I couldn't find the appropriate words to say to express how I felt. I was thinking of you all the whole time, and I know you must be relieved, ecstatic and also a little anxious that she is coming home today. I am so happy this day is here - congratulations to you all!!!!

Rock on!!! I'm so excited for your new foursome. You'll be unstoppable together. That's interesting about the apnea monitor... good luck with the training, and introducing J to her little sister.

It won't be long until she's wearing your clothes, J!!! (and, as an experienced older sister, I can tell you that Daniela will never STOP wearing J's clothes... ugh! Where's my pink dress???)

Fantastic! Simply fantastic. The first night will be the hardest- those NICU monitors and machines do give an odd sense of security, so you probably won't sleep much, but it's all good. Daniela will be home. HOME!

I love the blog that you have. I was wondering if you would link my blog to yours and in return I would do the same for your blog. If you want to, my site name is American Legends and the URL is:

www.americanlegends.blogspot.com

If you want to do this just go to my blog and in one of the comments just write your blog name and the URL and I will add it to my site.

Thanks,
David
